    This hike highlights geology. Your guide will take you on a journey through time, from the volcanic origins of the Canary Islands to the unique features of La Gomera. You will discover the formation of volcanic organ pipes, marine abrasion platform, low island, pyroclasts… The Puntallana Nature Reserve is an open book where the entire volcanic history of the island is revealed. Your guide will help you “read” and interpret this magnificent landscape, which is far more than just a pretty postcard.

    But Puntallana is not limited to geology. Its botanical heritage is equally outstanding: a coastal and halophilic vegetation extremely well preserved, home to endemic species, some of them exclusive to this area.

    The cultural dimension is just as rich. The reserve houses the sanctuary of the island’s patron saint, the Virgin of Guadalupe. Here you will learn her legend and the traditions held in her honor: the annual celebration and, even more extraordinary, the great lustral festivities that take place every five years.

    Puntallana is a true treasure of La Gomera, a fascinating place that deserves to be discovered and, above all, explained in order to fully grasp its value.
