Our Commitment to Sustainable Tourism
We believe that traveling is not only about discovering new landscapes, but also about caring for them. That is why each of our proposals is designed so that you can enjoy La Gomera while contributing to the protection of its natural and cultural wealth.
🌿 Conservation of Nature
We participate in projects that promote reforestation with native species and the removal of invasive flora. In this way, we help restore forests and keep the island’s unique ecosystems alive.
☀️Reducing the Carbon Footprint
- Programs without rental cars to reduce parking saturation in natural areas, soil erosion, and road risks.
- Promotion of journeys mainly on foot and strategic hotel changes to reduce travel distances and support the rural economy.
- Office powered by 100% solar electricity.
- We are in the process of replacing our company car with an electric vehicle.
🤝Collaborations that Add Value
-
-
Joint work with numerous small local businesses.
-
We are part of SoyEcoturista España and the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS), which bring together companies and natural areas around a common goal: making tourism a positive force.
-
In addition, we collaborate with the association ATUSOS in its Oasis of Oxygen project, which offsets the carbon footprint through the planting of native trees.
-
📚Education and Outreach
We believe that the best way to protect nature is to know and respect it. That is why we organize educational activities for schools, young people, and individuals, exploring the geology, botany, and biology of La Gomera.
Travel Aligned with Sustainable Tourism
- Experiences that foster respect for nature and the local population.
- Support for the local economy through collaboration with small businesses on the island.
- Activities designed with responsible environmental criteria.
Programs of Collaboration in Sustainable Tourism
We actively collaborate with initiatives that strengthen our commitment to sustainability and the conservation of nature in La Gomera. These programs allow us to work in networks with institutions, associations, and projects that share our vision of responsible tourism.
European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS)
The CETS is an initiative of the EUROPARC Federation that promotes the development of tourism with a sustainability focus in Europe’s protected natural areas. It is a voluntary commitment that guides both natural area managers and tourism businesses in applying sustainability principles.
SoyEcoturista
SoyEcoturista is a national network that offers authentic ecotourism experiences in unique natural areas of Spain. Its mission is to connect travelers with local hosts committed to conserving nature and fostering the sustainable development of their communities. By joining this initiative:
- We become part of a movement that promotes certified and responsible destinations.
-
We offer experiences that combine enjoyment with environmental protection.
-
We strengthen the visibility of La Gomera as an ecotourism destination within a national network.
Oasis of Oxygen – ATUSOS Association
The Oasis of Oxygen is a project promoted by the Association for Sustainable Tourism in La Gomera (ATUSOS), of which we are members. Its goal is to offset the carbon footprint of tourism through reforestation with native species, combating desertification, and regenerating the island’s unique ecosystems.
“Plántate” Project – Cabildo de La Gomera
The Plántate Project, promoted by the Cabildo of La Gomera, seeks to restore native flora and raise environmental awareness among citizens. Its actions include reforesting degraded areas, combating invasive flora, and implementing educational programs in schools and institutes.
By collaborating with these programs, we reinforce our mission to protect biodiversity, reduce the carbon footprint, and promote tourism that respects both nature and the local population. Each joint action brings us closer to a more sustainable future for La Gomera.
