Itinerary to Discover Vallehermoso
We will explore the valley of Vallehermoso, nestled in a spectacular natural setting dominated by Roque Cano. Along the way, you will see plantations of bananas, mangoes, papayas and avocado trees, which are characteristic of this area.
We will also visit the botanical garden before reaching Vallehermoso Beach. The return to the village follows the GR trail, a beautiful path that runs higher up and offers impressive views over the entire valley.

Cette randonnée circulaire permet de découvrir l’un des vallons les plus fertiles et emblématiques de La Gomera, dominé par la silhouette imposante du Roque Cano. L’itinéraire combine paysages agricoles, botanique, patrimoine naturel et un retour par un superbe tronçon du GR offrant des vues panoramiques sur tout le vallon et l’océan.This circular walk explores one of the most fertile and emblematic valleys of La Gomera, dominated by the striking silhouette of Roque Cano. The itinerary combines agricultural landscapes, botany, natural heritage and a beautiful return along the GR trail, offering sweeping views over the entire valley and the Atlantic Ocean.
We meet in the centre of Vallehermoso for an introduction to the area, its agricultural history, and the geological importance of Roque Cano, a major landmark in the north of the island.
We begin along traditional paths that cross the cultivated terraces. This gentle section allows you to observe:
- Banana plantations on stone terraces
- Mango, papaya and avocado trees
- Traditional and modern irrigation systems
- The integration of agriculture within a volcanic landscape
It is an ideal moment to understand the rural economy and cultural landscape of the valley.
We continue to the Vallehermoso Botanical Garden
The trail then leads us towards the coast, reaching Vallehermoso Beach. Depending on sea conditions, we enjoy:
- Views of the open Atlantic
- The contrast between the fertile valley and the volcanic shoreline
- A short break by the ocean
We return to the village along a beautiful elevated section of the GR trail. This part offers:
- Full views of Roque Cano
- The agricultural mosaic of the valley floor
- The barranco opening out towards the sea
- Traditional houses scattered along the slopes
It is the most scenic part of the walk and perfect for photography.
We finish the activity back in the village centre, with the option to recommend local products such as palm honey, cheeses, gofio or wines from the north of the island.
